OUR STORY

The stories, places, and people behind Chefz Dogz.

Every dog on this menu has a reason for being here. Some come from places I've called home, some from places I've traveled, and some from people and memories I've carried with me.

📍 Columbus, Ohio
Ohio Dog

Buckeye

I spent years traveling the world through food, but Chefz Dogz was born here in Ohio.

The Buckeye pays respect to the state I now call home, drawing inspiration from Cincinnati's unmistakable chili tradition.

After a career spent cooking in different places, there is something meaningful about building this next chapter here.

The place where Chefz Dogz was born.

📍 Chicago, Illinois
Chicago Dog | Chefz Giardino

Windy City

Of all the dogs I have created, the Windy City has always been one of Jasleen's favorites.

When I began developing my own interpretation, I wanted to preserve what makes a Chicago dog unmistakable while bringing a small piece of my own culinary journey into it.

Years ago, I had the opportunity to live, study, work, and travel throughout Italy. Some of my most lasting culinary lessons came from understanding that simple ingredients, treated with care and purpose, can tell an extraordinary story.

Sweet pickle relish, medium-hot giardiniera, and fresh Roma tomato come together as Chefz Giardino. We turn the giardiniera into a relish, so every bite carries the full garden, not just one vegetable at a time. Every bite brings the garden together: vegetables, sweetness, acidity, heat, and crunch, all at once.

Giardino means garden in Italian, and that is exactly what I wanted it to feel like: a garden of flavor in every bite.

For me, the name connects two chapters of my culinary life: what Italy taught me about respecting ingredients and what America taught me about respecting regional food traditions.

Chicago gave us the inspiration. Italy helped give it a name. Chefz Dogz brought the two together.

📍 New York, New York
New York Dog

Concrete Jungle

Some foods remind you of a place. Others remind you of a chapter in your life.

I had the opportunity to live and work in New York while working with The Ritz-Carlton. Inside the hotel, I learned refinement, discipline, and attention to detail. Outside its doors, New York offered a different lesson: some of the city's most memorable food comes from the street.

The Concrete Jungle pays respect to that contrast with an all-beef frank, yellow mustard, sauerkraut, and caramelized onion jam.

A little refinement, but still a New York street dog at heart.

📍 Seattle, Washington
Seattle Dog

Emerald City

Sometimes inspiration comes from something you never expect.

During a visit to the Tillamook Creamery in Oregon, I encountered something that caught me completely off guard: cream cheese on a hot dog. It sounded unusual. Then I tasted it. What I would later understand as a signature of Seattle hot dog culture became one of those unexpected food memories I never forgot.

The Emerald City brings that memory to Chefz Dogz with our house-whipped jalapeño and caramelized onion cream cheese on a toasted bun.

Sometimes the combinations you question most are the ones you remember longest.

📍 Detroit, Michigan
Detroit Dog

Motor City

Some food memories stay with you long before you understand where they came from.

When I was a kid, after playing basketball or baseball, my dad and I would stop at 7-Eleven and get chili dogs. At the time, I wasn't thinking about regional food traditions. I was a kid, with my dad, eating something we both enjoyed.

Years later, as I learned more about America's regional hot dog traditions, I came to understand the tradition of the Detroit-style Coney dog: chili, mustard, and onions. It immediately took me back to those childhood stops with Dad.

The Motor City brings that memory to Chefz Dogz with beef chili, yellow mustard, and chopped white onions on a bun.

I learned the name years later. The memory came first.

📍 Northern Virginia
Virginia Roots

Blue Ridge

I grew up in Virginia, where hot dogs were part of childhood, but so was something I didn't fully appreciate at the time.

My mom loved coleslaw. She would gather cabbage and vegetables from our garden and turn them into slaw for our family. As a kid, I simply knew it as Mom making food from what we grew at home.

Years later, after becoming a chef, I realized how special that really was. Long before I understood phrases like farm to table, I had already watched it happen in my own backyard.

The Blue Ridge brings me back to those memories with beef chili, creamy coleslaw, yellow mustard, and chopped white onions on a bun.

Before I knew what farm to table meant, Mom was already teaching me what it looked like.

📍 Alaska
Alaska Inspired

Lox Dog

Alaska changed the way I thought about salmon.

Traveling through Alaska and experiencing a place where salmon is woven so deeply into the food culture left a lasting impression on me. That experience stayed with me and eventually made me wonder how those flavors could find their way into Chefz Dogz.

The answer became the Lox Dog: smoked salmon, our house-whipped jalapeño and caramelized onion cream cheese, capers, and chopped white onions on a toasted poppy seed bun.

It takes the familiar relationship between salmon and cream cheese and places it somewhere unexpected.

Because sometimes a hot dog does not have to start with a hot dog.

📍 Inspired by Bicky
Plant Based

Orange County CA Garden Dog

Some dishes begin with a place. This one began with a person.

Bicky Singh, founder of Sikhlens, has become someone who consistently reminds me that feeding people well also means thinking about how we take care of ourselves. He is always encouraging me to eat healthier, live healthier, and pay closer attention to the choices we make.

That stayed with me while developing Chefz Dogz.

The Garden Dog was created with Bicky in mind and for guests seeking a plant-based alternative without sacrificing the experience of a great hot dog. At nearly three ounces, our plant-based frank gives us a substantial foundation that can carry the same regional flavors and toppings as the rest of the menu.

For me, it represents something larger than simply adding a plant-based option. It is Chefz Dogz's tribute to Bicky, to Sikhlens, and to the reminder that food can honor where we come from while encouraging us to think about where we are going.

Sometimes the people who inspire a dish never step into the kitchen. They simply step into your mindset and make you see food differently.

EVERY DOG HAS A REASON

Virginia. New York. Italy. Alaska. The Pacific Northwest. Ohio.

I never traveled to these places looking for hot dogs. I went because life and this profession took me there. Along the way, certain flavors, people, and moments stayed with me.

Years of cooking taught me that sophistication does not come from making food complicated. It comes from understanding why every ingredient is there.

That's why this menu isn't simply a collection of regional American hot dogs. It's a collection of places I've lived, places I've traveled, people who have shaped me, and food I never forgot.

Every dog has a place. Every dog has a memory. Every dog has a reason for being here.
