Of all the dogs I have created, the Windy City has always been one of Jasleen's favorites.
When I began developing my own interpretation, I wanted to preserve what makes a Chicago dog unmistakable while bringing a small piece of my own culinary journey into it.
Years ago, I had the opportunity to live, study, work, and travel throughout Italy. Some of my most lasting culinary lessons came from understanding that simple ingredients, treated with care and purpose, can tell an extraordinary story.
Sweet pickle relish, medium-hot giardiniera, and fresh Roma tomato come together as Chefz Giardino. We turn the giardiniera into a relish, so every bite carries the full garden, not just one vegetable at a time. Every bite brings the garden together: vegetables, sweetness, acidity, heat, and crunch, all at once.
Giardino means garden in Italian, and that is exactly what I wanted it to feel like: a garden of flavor in every bite.
For me, the name connects two chapters of my culinary life: what Italy taught me about respecting ingredients and what America taught me about respecting regional food traditions.
Chicago gave us the inspiration. Italy helped give it a name. Chefz Dogz brought the two together.
